Alison White

Solicitor – Senior Director

Alison is a Solicitor-Advocate of the Higher Courts (Civil Proceedings). She has specialised in children’s law for over 25 years and previously gained experience in a wider spectrum of legal issues. Alison conducts matters on behalf of parents, children and court appointed guardians representing clients personally throughout all court proceedings wherever possible. She heads the team at White & Co offering guidance, advice and supervision on the more complex cases if and when it is required. Alison offers a friendly approach to all clients and is the person to whom you should refer matters if you should have any concerns.

Alison has been granted the Higher Courts (Civil Proceedings) Qualification and often appears in the High Court in London and in the specialist courts allocated for hearing issues relating to children’s law. She is also is a Member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and a Member of the Association of Lawyers for Children.

Carla Kennedy

Solicitor – Senior Director

Carla Kennedy was admitted as a solicitor in 2007 and has been a Partner at White & Co since 2008.

Carla specialises in all aspects of family law. She has extensive experience in dealing with divorce and financial settlements, including high net worth cases involving buy to let portfolios, businesses and complex pensions. She also specialises in cohabitation disputes, pre nuptial agreements, domestic abuse cases, all children related matters including disputes regarding who the child lives with and spends time with, disputes with social services, care proceedings and adoption. Carla has brought successful proceedings in the High Court against a local authority for malpractice in relation to removal of a child from a parent’s care without consent or proper procedure.

Carla also specialises in private client matters. Carla deals with the preparation of wills and codicils, lasting powers of attorney and probate matters.

Carla is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and an accredited Resolution Family Law Specialist. Both of these accreditations recognise Carla’s considerable experience and skills in children and family law.

Laura Curzon

Solicitor – Director

Laura joined the team at White & Co in July 2021 and has been a Director at White & Co since November 2023. Laura initially qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive and thereafter converted her qualification through studying the LPC and a master’s degree in her spare time to be a solicitor.

Laura has extensive experience in all family law matters over several years. She specialises in representing clients in matrimonial matters, disputes relating to children, matters involving social services, care proceedings and domestic abuse matters. She has a keen interest in Public Law matters and will regularly undertake her own advocacy.

Laura has a client-focused approach and takes pride in achieving the best outcome for her clients.

Tanya Dowson

Paralegal

Tanya joined White & Co after several years of working for another local law firm.  She is a highly experienced paralegal, assisting clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce and finances, domestic abuse and private law children disputes.  Tanya is particularly experienced in representing clients involved with social services and is able to advise and represent clients at PLO meetings and throughout the PLO process.  She also is highly experienced at assisting clients in obtaining urgent Non Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders.

Abbey Roberts

Paralegal

Abbey joined White & Co as an experienced Paralegal in 2023.  After graduating from the University of Northampton with an LLB Law degree, Abbey joined a local law firm as a Paralegal and gained considerable experience in various aspects of family law. Abbey has also worked at a young parent and child residential unit gaining valuable experience supporting young mothers who have social services involvement including child protection concerns and those subject to the Public Law Online (PLO).

Abbey also has considerable experience in domestic abuse matters and obtaining protective injunctions along with private law children matters

Nidhi Shah

Paralegal

Nidhi joined White & Co as an experienced paralegal in 2024. She moved from Canada and graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 2023 obtaining an LLB Law degree with honours. After graduation, she worked with the National Centre for Domestic Violence and gained considerable experience in domestic abuse matters. Nidhi is particularly experienced in assisting clients with obtaining urgent Non-Molestation Orders, Occupation Orders, and Prohibited Steps Orders.

Hilary Caldwell

Practice Manager

Hilary has been employed at White & Co since 2019 after moving here from South Africa and has over 26 years’ experience in accounts and bookkeeping. She has also worked in Office Management since 2002 and has extensive experience in HR and Financial Management.

In addition, Hilary has a certificate in Counselling Skills, a certificate in HR & Employment Law and a Diploma in Business Management.
